Re-review nit: the regression test deleted every *.ts in the machine-global
TranscodeTroubleshootingFolder, which could nuke a live troubleshooting session's
segments on a dev machine (reaping files it didn't create). Drop the sweep and
keep only Directory.CreateDirectory — the folder-exists guarantee is what closes
the false-pass hole; NUnit runs serially and no test leaves >= 2 stray .ts, so
determinism is unaffected (negative control re-verified: still fails in ~10s).

Cold review (PR #423) found two LOW nits:
- The segment-wait break also checked cancellationToken.IsCancellationRequested,
which could exit into the Ok gate and return a spurious 200 for a cancelled
request with no segments. The term is redundant (Task.Delay already throws on
cancel -> caught -> 404), so break on notifier.IsFailed only.
- The regression test's non-vacuousness was filesystem-state dependent (absent
  troubleshooting folder -> Directory.GetFiles throws -> false pass pre-fix).
Seed an empty folder like the sibling success test so the spin path is
deterministic regardless of NUnit run order.

Negative control re-verified: removing the IsFailed break fails the test in ~10s.

The second (segment-readiness) poll in POST /api/v1/troubleshoot/playback/start
only checked !hasSegments. If ffmpeg died after writing the HLS playlist but
before the first segments appeared, the loop spun until the client cancelled —
tying up the request thread and holding the troubleshooting lock (worse since
#301 moved the manifest fetch server-side per #320's writeup). Mirror the first
(playlist) wait loop's exit check so a dead ffmpeg or client cancellation breaks
the wait; the existing !IsFailed guard then falls through to the terminal
NotFoundProblem, releasing the thread + lock.

Adds a non-vacuous regression test (verified it fails on the pre-fix spinning
loop via a bounded cancellation deadline).

fixes #320

Version every /api route to /api/v1 (251 controller routes + ~24 Location
headers + the scanner callback URL + the Startup request-log literal),
uniform across the machine API, auth, scanner and scripted-build surfaces.

Add ApiVersionRewriteMiddleware: a legacy unversioned /api/* request is
rewritten (NOT redirected) to /api/v1/* in-pipeline — method, body, auth
headers and query survive — carrying RFC 8594 Deprecation/Sunset headers,
so curl / the future MCP server / bookmarks keep working. An already-
versioned path passes through; a future /api/v2 is never forced to v1.

Standardize the route convention (leading-slash absolute route per method,
no class-[Route] — except the two Scanner/Scripted controllers whose ~all
actions share a parametrized {id} prefix), enforced by ApiRouteVersioningTests
(^/api/v\d+/ over the whole Controllers.Api surface; browser-nav
/auth/oidc/login is out of scope).

Regenerate v1.json (160 paths, all /api/v1)/endpoint-index/v1.d.ts; sweep 945
SPA request literals + the test mocks (regex + positional URL parsers). /api/v1
is additive-only after freeze; the legacy-rewrite shim sunsets in ~2 releases
(owner decision) with removal tracked as a Phase-3 follow-up.

timothyandClaude Opus 4.8 ec26e1be5b fix(api): #316 review — POST-ify graphics-elements refresh, LockedError→409, no-store machine-key
- GET /api/graphics-elements no longer side-effects; refresh moved to
POST /api/graphics-elements/refresh (204), closing a CSRF vector on a GET.
- PrepareTroubleshootingPlaybackHandler now returns a typed LockedError from
both atomic lock-acquire failures; ApiResults.ToErrorResult maps it to 409
instead of falling through to 422, so a lock lost in the race between the
controller's pre-check and the handler's atomic acquire still reports 409.
- AuthController.MachineKey sets Cache-Control: no-store + Pragma: no-cache
on the 200 response carrying the master API key.
- Reworded the stale "subtitleId query parameter" endpoint description now
that playback/start takes a JSON body.
- Regenerated openapi/v1.json + docs/endpoint-index.md; docs/api-conventions.md
updated with the LockedError pattern (§3a) and the ToErrorResult table row.

timothyandClaude Opus 4.8 5e5f0af684 fix(235-A): normalize async-op error contracts on Maintenance + Troubleshoot controllers (#235)
Slice A of the async-op API contract normalization.

MaintenanceController:
- EmptyTrash error path: was 500 text/plain (error.ToString()); now maps the
  BaseError Left through ApiResults.ToErrorResult() -> 404 (NotFoundError) / 422
ProblemDetails. Success stays 200 OkResult. Added ProducesResponseType 200 + 422.
- CleanArtwork: fire-and-forget enqueue of DeleteOrphanedArtwork was a silent 200;
now returns 202 Accepted (AcceptedResult) since it queues background work.
Added ProducesResponseType 202. (Controller does not derive from ControllerBase,
so results are built directly as before.)

TroubleshootController.TroubleshootPlayback (GET|HEAD /api/troubleshoot/playback.m3u8):
- Two bare body-less NotFound() call sites conflated "not found" with "prepare/
playback failure". Both now return a ProblemDetails body:
  * prepare-failure (result.IsLeft): mapped through error.ToErrorResult() -> 404 for
NotFoundError (unknown media item/channel) else 422 for a validation BaseError.
  * terminal fall-through (prepare ok but no playable output): kept 404 with a
    distinguishing ApiResults.NotFoundProblem(...) detail.
- Added ProducesResponseType 404 + 422 (409 already present).

Consumer check: the SPA (PlaybackTroubleshootingScreen) feeds the playback.m3u8 URL
straight to hls.js via HlsPlayer, which never inspects the HTTP status code — playback
state is surfaced via the separate /api/troubleshoot/playback/status poll. So the
404->422 split for the validation subcase is safe; no player code branches on the
status code.

Tests: MaintenanceControllerTests (200/422/202 + enqueue assertion),
TroubleshootControllerTests (prepare 404 NotFoundError, 422 validation). All green;
Api error-metadata/contract/security scans still pass.

Note: OpenAPI artifacts (v1.json / v1.d.ts) intentionally NOT regenerated here — the
orchestrator regenerates once after all #235 slices merge.

Consume the EntityLocker ownership contract (#231/#241: Lock* returns true iff
this caller won the slot) at three lock-leak sites surfaced by adversarial-reviewer#20.

#233 (F3) — troubleshooting playback:
- PrepareTroubleshootingPlaybackHandler: both lock sites now acquire via
`if (!LockTroubleshootingPlayback())` (kills the check-then-set TOCTOU) and the
empty-media-path Left return releases the lock it acquired — previously it leaked,
wedging the status endpoint at "running" forever for a file gone from disk.
- TroubleshootController.TroubleshootPlayback: lock conflict is now 409 ProblemDetails
(was a bare 404, indistinguishable from a bad id); the Prepare-success -> enqueue
window releases the lock if we never hand off to StartTroubleshootingPlayback.

#234 (F4 + F5.2) — playout builds:
- ExtractEmbeddedSubtitlesHandler: try/finally releases exactly the playouts it
locked, on every terminal path (cancellation early-return, swallowed cancellation,
any exception) — no more permanent leaks after cancelled mid-extraction, and no
cross-release of playouts held by someone else.
- BuildPlayoutHandler: skips (logs, returns Right) when LockPlayout returns false
instead of building unlocked and cross-releasing the other owner's lock in finally.

Tests: handler-level release-discipline tests (Prepare empty-path, Extract
cancellation + no-cross-release, BuildPlayout skip + finally-release) via the
InMemoryTvContext harness, a TroubleshootController 409 test, and OpenApi contract
cases for the m3u8 endpoint's 409. OpenAPI regenerated. All non-vacuous (F3 verified
against a negative control).

timothyandClaude Fable 5 8ada776324 test(troubleshoot): cover new troubleshooting playback endpoints
Add controller tests for stream-selectors, subtitles (404 + mapping), and
the status endpoint's idle/running/completed/failed transitions (using the
real status store), plus a unit test for the notification handler. Add the
subtitles 404 case to the OpenAPI ProblemDetails contract test.

timothy dfa561a97e feat(api): logs and troubleshooting-info endpoints for SPA parity (#145, #158)
Add GET /api/logs (thin wrapper over GetRecentLogEntries; paged, filtered,
clamped pageSize like LibraryBrowseController) and GET /api/troubleshoot/info
(wraps GetTroubleshootingInfo; General section serialized to the same JSON
shape the legacy Blazor Troubleshooting page renders, plus per-platform
capability dumps). Also adds [EndpointGroupName("general")] to the existing
troubleshoot playback endpoints so they surface in the OpenAPI spec (#158
item 3).
