`api.paging-zero-based` says `pageNum` is 0-based across `/api/v1` and every wrapper
of it. That was true of the MCP tool catalog and the docs, and not true of the
generated OpenAPI document: all 24 paging parameters across the 12 paged operations
were emitted with no `description` at all, so a consumer reading only `v1.json` — the
intended contract, and what generated clients surface to their users — had to infer
the base from `default: 0`. That is the same inference that cost #487 a verification
pass on the MCP side, where the description was present but wrong.
Annotates each `[FromQuery]` paging parameter with `[Description]`
(`System.ComponentModel`), the mechanism `parentId` already used in ImagesController,
and regenerates `v1.json`. `pageSize` states the endpoint's OWN cap, because the caps
genuinely differ — 100 typical, 200 auto-tune members, 1000 search/all-items — and the
record forbids documenting one global number; it also states that the offset derives
from the effective (capped) size, so an over-large `pageSize` narrows the page instead
of widening the offset.
The generated TypeScript client covers DTOs only, not query parameters, so it is
unchanged; `endpoint-index.md` carries summaries, not parameter descriptions, so it is
unchanged too.
Pinned by OpenApiPagingContractTests against the in-process generated document. The
test NAMES the expected set of 12 paged operations rather than only filtering for
parameters called `pageNum`: a filter cannot see an endpoint that should page and
doesn't, which is exactly how two MCP tools escaped the equivalent check in #616. Set
equality is asserted in both directions, and the caps are pinned per endpoint so a
description naming the wrong cap fails — a wrong justification outlives a wrong line.
Mutation-verified both ways: dropping one `[Description]` reddens the description test,
and making one endpoint stop exposing `pageNum`/`pageSize` under those names reddens
the set-equality test.

Decisions-Edit: yes
Under a JWT-enabled deployment (JWT:IssuerSigningKey set), /iptv/* is gated by
ConditionalIptvAuthorizeFilter and the "jwt" scheme does not accept the SPA's
ctv-session cookie, and nothing minted a JWT for the browser. So the #60 channel
preview was declared Unavailable and could not run at all.
Add GET /api/v1/auth/iptv-token (session-gated, on the [IgnoreApi] AuthController):
mints a short-lived global token via JwtHelper.GenerateBrowserToken (60 min default,
JWT:BrowserTokenLifetimeMinutes override), 204 when JWT is disabled. The SPA's new
withIptvToken(url) helper appends it as ?access_token= to the manifest URL (a no-op
when JWT is off), used by the channel-preview panel and the troubleshooting screen.
Mapper.GetPreview drops its iptvJwtEnabled -> Unavailable guard; preview is now
JWT-agnostic.
Live-E2E under JWT: /iptv manifest 401s without a token and passes with a valid one
(garbage token -> 401); token endpoint 401s anonymous, mints with a session.
Honest finding: the issue's point 2 (troubleshooting screen broken under JWT) does
not reproduce -- its live.m3u8 is static-served (UseStaticFiles at /iptv/session),
outside the JWT filter, so it was never gated. The withIptvToken call there is a
harmless defensive no-op.
Docs: security.iptv-browser-token (api-auth-security.md), amended
api.channel-preview-capability, spa-conventions §5b. No OpenAPI change (IgnoreApi +
unchanged Preview schema).

Auto-Tune DetailPanel backend (#385), additive half. The create request
`AutoTunedChannelRequest` gains three optional per-channel fields, all
backward-compatible (omit = PR1 behavior):
- `templateId` — overrides the batch template per channel
- `advanced` — reuses the manual Channel Builder's
`CreateChannelFromLineupAdvancedOptionsRequest` verbatim (24-field override
set, `advanced.X ?? template.X` stamp contract). Axis default fills
`PlaybackOrder` only when the caller leaves it null.
- `logo` — uploaded channel image, `Sanitized()` at the request boundary
(#283 stored-XSS defense), forwarded to `CreateChannelFromLineup.Logo`
Resolved per channel inside `CreateAutoTunedChannelsHandler.CreateOne`, so one
channel's bad override still yields a per-channel Failed/Skipped without
aborting the batch.
Per-source rotation weights + query corrections are split out to #425 (they
need a MultiCollection-of-per-source-SmartCollections redesign — #70's
WeightedShuffle reads weights only off MultiCollection join rows, and an
auto-tuned channel is one SmartCollection). Bug-initials/colour generated logo
also deferred (needs persisted Channel state + FFmpeg-pipeline wiring).
Tests: handler override-threading (per-channel wins, axis default preserved,
no-override baseline) + request `ToCommand()` logo sanitization. OpenAPI trio
regenerated. Docs: decisions.md, api-conventions.md, domain-model.md.

Cold adversarial review found a crafted numeric `?axis=5` binds past
[ApiController]'s auto-400 (ModelState valid), then AutoTuneAxisMap.GenerateQuery's
`_ => throw` surfaces as a 500 (no global exception filter). Short-circuit an
undefined axis to an empty result in the handler — matching #69's EnumerateAxis
`_ => []` graceful-empty pattern. Adds a regression test asserting no search runs.
Also simplifies the redundant pageSize lower clamp (review N4): the `<= 0 ? 100`
guard already floors it, so `Math.Clamp(_, 1, 200)` -> `Math.Min(_, 200)`.

GET /api/v1/channels/auto-tune/members lists the distinct content sources a
proposed auto-tune channel's server-generated SmartCollection resolves to —
parent shows for the TV axes (ItemCount = query-matching episodes), movies for
the movie-genre axis — reusing the existing PagedLibraryBrowseItemsResponseModel
(no new schema). The handler runs the server-owned AutoTuneAxisMap.GenerateQuery
through ISearchIndex (client never sends Lucene, per #69 PR1) and rolls matching
leaf items up to their distinct sources, mirroring GetSmartCollectionItems so the
DetailPanel preview matches what the built playout will contain.
Backend child of #383 (Auto-Tune DetailPanel milestone); read-only, cold review
acceptable. Handler + controller tests (9 new). OpenAPI + endpoint-index
regenerated; d.ts unchanged (reuses existing schema). Docs: api-conventions §5,

Version every /api route to /api/v1 (251 controller routes + ~24 Location
headers + the scanner callback URL + the Startup request-log literal),
uniform across the machine API, auth, scanner and scripted-build surfaces.
Add ApiVersionRewriteMiddleware: a legacy unversioned /api/* request is
rewritten (NOT redirected) to /api/v1/* in-pipeline — method, body, auth
headers and query survive — carrying RFC 8594 Deprecation/Sunset headers,
so curl / the future MCP server / bookmarks keep working. An already-
versioned path passes through; a future /api/v2 is never forced to v1.
Standardize the route convention (leading-slash absolute route per method,
no class-[Route] — except the two Scanner/Scripted controllers whose ~all
actions share a parametrized {id} prefix), enforced by ApiRouteVersioningTests
(^/api/v\d+/ over the whole Controllers.Api surface; browser-nav
/auth/oidc/login is out of scope).
Regenerate v1.json (160 paths, all /api/v1)/endpoint-index/v1.d.ts; sweep 945
SPA request literals + the test mocks (regex + positional URL parsers). /api/v1
is additive-only after freeze; the legacy-rewrite shim sunsets in ~2 releases
(owner decision) with removal tracked as a Phase-3 follow-up.

Mint ChannelDetailResponseModel (faithful detail DTO exposing the raw editable
field set the channel editor reads: raw FFmpegProfileId/WatermarkId/FallbackFillerId
ids, the mode enums, logo, playoutCount, id) and route GetById/Create/Update through
it, replacing the lean list ChannelResponseModel that resolved the profile to a name
and dropped the editable ids (a functional regression for draftFromChannel). The lean
ChannelResponseModel stays unchanged for GET /api/channels. webEncodedName dropped
(SPA never reads it). Logo is mirrored as a Core ChannelLogoResponseModel since the
Application ArtworkContentTypeModel can't be referenced from Core.
Repoint the hand-written SPA client aliases now that the VMs are gone from the schema:
Channel -> ChannelDetailResponseModel, MediaCollection/SmartCollection -> *ResponseModel,
ProgramSchedule -> ProgramScheduleResponseModel. Fix#288 honest-nullability test fallout
in search.test.ts (null -> [] for now-non-null id arrays). Include the already-on-disk
playouts.ts WithDayNames removal and regenerate v1.json + v1.d.ts + endpoint-index.md
(authoritative final regen; the reset endpoint's {channelNumber}->{id} re-key surfaces
in the generated docs and the OpenApi error-contract test).

Slice C of the async-op contract normalization:
- channel reset (POST /api/channels/{channelNumber}/playout/reset) now
returns 202 Accepted (was 200 Ok) — it only queues a background rebuild
- reset-all (POST /api/playouts/reset-all) still 202 but now returns a
ResetAllPlayoutsResponseModel body reporting QueuedPlayoutIds /
SkippedLocked / SkippedUnsupported instead of silently swallowing skips;
handler returns a new ResetAllPlayoutsResult record
- single-playout GET (GET /api/playouts/{id}) now exposes IsLocked on
PlayoutResponseModel, set from IEntityLocker.IsPlayoutLocked mirroring
the list projection — gives a polling client the lock flag
Tests: channel reset asserts 202; reset-all asserts 202 + skipped-body
shape; single GET asserts IsLocked; new ResetAllPlayoutsHandlerTests
(in-memory SQLite) asserts locked/ExternalJson/None land in skipped lists
and eligible playouts in queued. docs/api-conventions.md §3a updated.

Task A (#126): new non-polymorphic ScheduleItemResponseModel /
ScheduleItemsResponseModel in Core/Api/Scheduling, plus shared
NamedIdResponseModel. ScheduleItemResponseMapper flattens the
One/Flood/Multiple/Duration VM hierarchy. ScheduleController GET/POST/PUT
items now return the flat DTOs.
Task B: GET /api/languages (LanguagesController + LanguageCodeResponseModel);
GET /api/channels/music-video-credits-templates and
GET /api/channels/stream-selectors; FillerKind added to
FillerPresetResponseModel with optional ?fillerKind= filter on
GET /api/filler-presets.

Blazor disabled per-playout Reset/Erase/Delete/Edit while a BuildPlayout was
in flight (EntityLocker.IsPlayoutLocked); the REST API had no equivalent, so a
client could race an in-flight build with a destructive ExecuteDelete and leave
a half-built playout. After Blazor removal this safety invariant would vanish
entirely (adversarial-reviewer#18 removal gate).
Server:
- Add public ApiResults.ConflictProblem(title, detail) (409, mirrors NotFoundProblem).
- Inject IEntityLocker into PlayoutController; guard every id-keyed mutation
(PUT {id}, PUT .../deco, PUT .../alternate-schedules, PUT .../templates,
POST .../erase-items, POST .../erase-items-and-history, DELETE {id}) → 409
when IsPlayoutLocked(id); add [ProducesResponseType(...409)] to each.
- Guard ChannelController.ResetPlayout the same way after resolving the id.
- reset-all stays 202 (ResetAllPlayoutsHandler already skips locked playouts).
- Stamp IsLocked onto PlayoutListItemResponseModel from IsPlayoutLocked.
SPA:
- Disable Reset/Erase/Erase-and-history/Delete for a locked row + show a
"Building…" Badge; on a 409 surface the error and refresh the list.
Tests: controller-level 409 guard tests (delete/erase/PUT/deco/channel-reset)
+ IsLocked projection test; new OpenAPI contract + metadata 409 rows.

Adversarial review found the previous multi-flood design non-viable:
PlayoutModeSchedulerFlood never yields to a following Dynamic-start
schedule item, so only the first item ever played, and grouping
media items into a Collection silently dropped the requested order.
Redesign:
- Single-item lineup: one ProgramScheduleItemFlood referencing the
target directly (media item / collection / smart / multi / rerun /
playlist); no generated collection or playlist. Response PlaylistId
is null.
- Multi-item lineup (>= 2): one generated IsSystem Playlist in a
get-or-created IsSystem PlaylistGroup ("Channel Lineups"), one
PlaylistItem per entry in lineup order with PlayAll=true, referenced
by a single Flood schedule item. Rerun collections and playlists are
rejected (422) in multi lineups (PlaylistItem/CollectionKey lack the
fields to enumerate them).
Review fixes:
- Normalize + strict-validate MediaType<->CollectionType pairs once up
front (422 on mismatch / wrong id / not exactly one id).
- Reject MultiCollection with non-Shuffle order (mirrors
PlayoutModeMustBeValid), Mirror playout source, all via 422.
- OnDemand parity: queue TimeShiftOnDemandPlayout post-commit.
- De-collide generated ProgramSchedule and Playlist names against their
unique indexes instead of leaking a UNIQUE-constraint DbUpdateException.
- Generic 422 on save failure + ILogger; AnyAsync existence checks;
Either/Validation unwrap via Match; XML doc on request DTO + endpoint.
- Response model: ChannelId, PlaylistId (nullable), ProgramScheduleId,
PlayoutId (CollectionId removed). Regenerated OpenAPI v1.json + v1.d.ts.

- Add GetChannelGuideDataHandlerTests coverage for the mirror-channel path:
asserts programme Start/Stop shift by PlayoutOffset and that the source
channel's seeded PlayoutItem entities are not mutated, pinning the
WithPlayoutOffset copy fix.
- ChannelController.GetGuide Swagger description said end defaults to "now
plus XmltvDaysToBuild"; it actually defaults to start plus that window
(matters when start is supplied). Reworded and regenerated v1.json.
Add GET /api/guide returning a per-channel EPG grid (ChannelGuideResponseModel).
start defaults to now, end defaults to now + XmltvDaysToBuild.
Extract the guide-group/filler-merge projection (ChannelGuideProjector) and
programme-metadata resolution (ChannelGuideMetadata) plus the metadata eager-load
(IncludeGuideMetadata) out of RefreshChannelDataHandler so the XMLTV cache builder
and the JSON guide share one source of truth and cannot drift. XMLTV output is
unchanged (ChannelGuideGoldenTests pass without regeneration).
The JSON handler mirrors XMLTV semantics: ShowInEpg-only channels, decimal channel
ordering, ExternalJson playouts skipped, mirror playout offset applied to copies
(never mutating the loaded entities). SubTitle/Category are nullable.

Adversarial review fixes for the #97 endpoint:
- nowPlaying now resolves like the XMLTV guide: when the wall-clock item
is pre/mid-roll filler, surface the guide group's program item (title +
full program bounds) instead of the filler; a guide entry with no
program item (e.g. fallback loop) reports null. Previously an ad break
would retitle the channel and reset progress every 30 seconds.
- covering-item lookup now runs one cheap projected query per distinct
playout offset instead of hydrating the full metadata include tree for
a window widened by the largest offset across ALL channels (up to 24h);
metadata is fetched in a second query scoped to the covering guide
groups, time-bounded to stay safe against GuideGroup recycling (mod
10000). Regression caught while testing: covering items are keyed by
(source channel, lookup time) so a source channel no longer inherits
its offset mirror's lookup result.
- GetChannelStatesForApi now carries Now explicitly (controller passes
DateTime.UtcNow), making boundary semantics testable: new tests pin
now == Start (playing) and now == Finish (not playing), plus mid-roll,
filler-only, and mirror-source-row cases.
- ChannelNowPlayingResponseModel title is non-nullable in the schema
(#nullable enable) — GetDisplayTitle always returns a string.
- GetState uses the typed-return controller convention; Playouts.Mapper
reverted to internal (handler lives in the same assembly).
- Spec doc notes the OnDemand drift caveat and filler semantics.

First slice of the REST API (ersatztv#2). Idiomatic REST over existing MediatR handlers; design in docs/rest-api.md.
Foundation: NotFoundError : BaseError (Core) to split 404 from 422; ApiResults mapping helpers (Either/Option -> 201+Location / 200 / 204 / 404 / 422), additive (existing *ToActionResult untouched); ApiKeyAuthorizationFilter (optional X-Api-Key on mutating actions, gated by Api:WriteKey, no-op when unset) — independent of the IPTV JWT toggle so Jellyfin/Dispatcharr reads are unaffected, applied at controller-class level so every mutating action incl. ResetPlayout is covered fail-safe.
Channels: POST /api/channels (201+Location), PUT/{id} (200/404), DELETE/{id} (204/404), GET/{id} (200/404). Request DTOs -> existing commands; responses reuse ChannelViewModel. Ported page-only validations into handlers (ShowInEpg-when-disabled, external-logo-URL, Group NotEmpty) + FFmpegProfile/Watermark/Filler existence on update for create-parity. Fixed a latent 500: the .Filter(c>0) existence pattern threw TaskCanceledException on not-found; rewritten to AnyAsync.
Tests (NUnit, TZ=UTC): handler success/404/422, ApiResults mapping, API-key filter, controller status/Location/mapping, a controller-security regression net, and a create->read->delete EF integration test on a new in-memory SQLite harness. ErsatzTV.Tests 46/46, Architecture 5/5.
